Kayna Stavast Levy

Senior Counsel

Kayna Stavast Levy focuses her practice on business and employment litigation. She was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star for Texas in 2023 and has over a decade of experience at all stages of litigation, including pre-litigation negotiations, state and federal enforcement actions and litigation, mediations, and private and AAA arbitrations. Kayna’s litigation focuses on breaches of contract and other disputes among entity stakeholders, litigating non-compete and other restrictive covenants, and books and records requests under Texas and Delaware law. In the employment arena, Kayna advises clients and supports employers in developing internal policies, navigating separations and internal investigations, as well as in successfully responding to EEOC and other government and private discrimination allegations. She is also well versed in navigating antitrust enforcement issues pre-suit and in litigation, having been a member of the United States Department of Justice and the Texas/state-level merger and conduct investigation and trial teams. Kayna has negotiated civil investigative demands and subpoenas in Sherman Act and Clayton Act cases and lead Texas and nationwide investigations of group boycott, bid rigging, monopolization, and price fixing allegations. Her experience spans a range of industries, including software, healthcare, financial services, telecommunications, and high-tech and medical consumer products.

Prior to entering private practice in 2019, Kayna served as a two-year term law clerk to the Honorable Mark Lane, Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas in Austin after several years in public service roles at the state and federal level. Her commitment to the vocational aspect of the practice of law, first developed as a volunteer at Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma before law school, remains strong—in addition to her participation in local bar activities, Kayna is proud of her recent work in support of a convicted individual via an amicus curiae brief submitted to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, as well as her role in ongoing First Amendment litigation fighting unconstitutional book bans in Central Texas. She is a proud volunteer with Shalom Austin’s Early Childhood Program and graduate of the 2022 Austin Young Lawyer Association/Austin Bar Association Leadership Academy.
