We are proud to announce that, as of January 1, Botkin Chiarello Calaf name partner Katherine Chiarello will step into the role of managing partner. Partner Asra Syed has been selected as managing partner-elect.

Katherine, a skilled and experienced trial and appellate lawyer, was named the 2023 Litigation/Appellate Attorney of the Year by the Travis County Women Lawyers Association. She has also been honored by Texas Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, and Austin Monthly magazine’s list of Austin’s Top Attorneys. Trinity University’s alumni publication recently profiled Katherine for her work in a landmark First Amendment case.

Asra, a former public radio journalist, represents clients in a variety of commercial disputes, including mergers and acquisitions, securities, and intellectual property matters. Asra is passionate about pro bono work and has dedicated significant time to advocating for immigrant rights. She has been honored by Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch and Austin Monthly magazine’s list of Austin’s Top Attorneys.
