Botkin Chiarello Calaf Elects Asra Syed as New Managing Partner

We are proud to announce Asra Syed as the firm’s newest managing partner and partner Jennifer Rappoport Colimon as managing partner-elect.
Asra succeeds name partner Katherine Chiarello, who led the firm to another successful year in trial and appellate courts across the United States. She also helmed the firm’s continued growth with the addition of new attorneys, including two former federal court clerks, boosting BCC’s expertise in intellectual property, appellate, and business law.
“Katherine deserves a huge thanks for everything she helped our firm accomplish as managing partner,” Asra said. “I am excited to build on this work as we add new clients and continue to grow in 2026.”
Clients call on Asra to handle commercial disputes involving mergers and acquisitions, business torts, and intellectual property claims. A former public radio journalist, Asra has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch list and Austin Monthly Magazine’s annual ranking of Austin’s Top Attorneys for her work in commercial litigation.
Jennifer is a commercial litigator with extensive experience in complex employment disputes, from trade secret enforcement to wage and hour class actions to high-stakes executive investigations. Jennifer also provides focused expertise advising Texas businesses with operations in California, and she is licensed in both states. This is a return to firm management for Jennifer, who served as the firm’s first managing partner in 2023.
