Experience
Laysha brings a strong academic background and a passion for advocacy to the BCC team. A proud first-generation Mexican American and Terry Foundation Scholar, she earned her B.A. in Race, Indigeneity, and Migration and Plan II Honors from The University of Texas at Austin.
Her commitment to service was evident during her time at UT, where she actively supported marginalized and first-generation students in various leadership roles, including serving as a mentor with Minority Women Pursuing Law. She also gained hands-on experience through the UT Law’s Immigration Clinic and was inducted into The Friar Society, UT’s oldest honor society. Her professional background includes work experience with the Texas Senate and Texas Appleseed.
Laysha’s skills, including her dedication to supporting diverse communities and her experience in legislative and non-profit settings, ensure the BCC’s attorneys and clients receive meticulous and high-level support.
