The Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association and the Travis County Women Lawyers’ Foundation will recognize Botkin Chiarello Calaf partners María Amelia Calaf (MAC) and Leah Bhimani Buratti at the annual TCWLF & TCWLA Annual Grants & Awards Luncheon on April 26 at the Fairmont Hotel.

MAC is being recognized for her commitment to the Advancement of Women’s Interests. A career-long champion of professional women, MAC was recently re-appointed to the Hispanic National Bar Association’s Latina commission, and named to the inaugural issue of Austin Women Changemakers.

Leah is being recognized for her long-standing commitment to pro bono work. Having served on the board of American Gateways, Leah wrote last year about one particularly impactful case, where she represented a Honduran immigrant in her pursuit of asylum, in the State Bar of Texas’ immigration bulletin.

“MAC and Leah are great attorneys – that’s a given,” said Botkin Chiarello Calaf managing partner Ryan Botkin. “They are also respected community leaders. I’m glad that the Travis County Women’s Association and the Foundation are recognizing them as such and acknowledging their important contributions to the Austin legal community.”
